About Ang Thong
A little more then a 100 kilometers north of Bangkok, you will find Thailand's smallest province. Ang Thong was in the beginning called Muang Wiset Chai Chan and play a big roll in Thailand's history. Under Ayutthaya's many battles with neighboring country Burma, Ang Thong function as the last outpost fore the troops in the north.
The landscape consists mostly of flat land with out bigger mountains or forests. Chao Phraya and the Noi river both flows throw the province and here you find many old temples.
Many of the provinces smaller villages has specialize in different kind of handicraft. Drums, baskets and traditionally dressed dolls is some of the typical products and handicraft that they make in this villages.

Attractions
Boat Racing with a range of different kind of boats. The race is driven on the rivers Chao Phraya and Noi River. Many of the races take place in October.
The bats of the Chantarm temple you find north of the city. The large numbers of bats, that made the temple famous, lives outside the building. The bats usually sleeps during the day and hunts in the night time.
