About Angthong
A little more then a hundred kilometers north of Bangkok, you will find Thailand's smallest province. Ang Thong was in the beginning called Muang Wiset Chai Chan and play a big roll in Thailand's history. Under Ayutthaya's many battles with neighboring country Burma, Ang Thong function as the last outpost fore the troops in the north.
The landscape consists mostly of flat country with out bigger mountains or forests. Chao Phraya and Noi river both flows throw the province and here you find many historical important temples.
Many of the provinces smaller villages has specialize in different kind of handicraft. Drums, baskets and traditionally dressed dolls is some of the typical products and handicraft that they make in this villages.
