About Chaiyaphum Province
Chaiyaphum Province is located in the Thailand´s north-eastern region, because of its central location almost be described as Thailand's heart. The 340 kilometer long route to Bangkok is easily cleared by car and by bus. The nearest train station is located, however, 50 km away (in Bua Yai).
The province's landscapes are of varied nature in which about 50 percent consists of flat landscape and the remaining areas of forest and mountains. Historically, the town of Chaiyaphum Province's been around since the days of the khmer-empire was as most powerful. The city was under a short time almost abandoned, but in the early 1800s Rama the second returned the city on the Thai map. The province currently has three national parks where waterfalls, spectacular cliffs and a rich flower flora belongs to the main attractions.

Attractions
Elephant village of Ban Khai can be found twelve miles outside the city in the small village of Ban Khai. Some of the people working here to capture and tame the elephants. In January of each year a festival is held where the elephants is presented and make arts.
Prange Ku are a few kilometers outside the city, and it is the area's oldest religious construction works. Monuments are made of sandstone and is highly revered by local people.
