Chon Buri, is located about 80 kilometers east of the capital, Bangkok. The province has a long coastal strip and Koh Si Chang is the area's largest island, King Rama V build his European styled summer palace on the island. Ferries from Si Rach goes here regularly.
The (undoubtedly) most popular destination in the province is the beach town of Pattaya. Here you'll find a huge range of hotels (one of the worlds largest), nightclubs and lots of various tourist activities, several high-class golf courses, museum and a zoo with Bengal tigers, are just some examples. You should also know that the city's "red light district" is one of Asia's "most notorious". The beaches are not particularly "idyllic" in Pattaya, but the range of water sports is quite large.
