About Kamphaeng Phet
Kamphaengphet is one of northern Thailand's southern provinces. Mountains and forests dominate the western part of the province, and open plains dress the eastern parts. This varied nature has given home to several natural and national parks.
Historically, the province of Kamphaeng Phet has played an important strategic area. Several ancient cities in the area functioned during the fighting against Burma as a base for the northern front line. Today you can still see traces of old fortifications and temples here.
