Popular tourist destinations: Phra That Na Dun, Isan Cultural and Art Center, Ku Santarat, Bung Bon lake, Kosampi Park and Wat Mahachai.


About Maha Sarakham

The Isan area's heart you find the flat landscape of Maha Sarakham in the middle of eastern Thailand. Although paddy fields dominate the landscape is cattle rearing animals is the most common employment for the province's inhabitants. Production of various silk and cotton products are among the population of typical crafts. The most notorious tailors living in the small village of Nong Kuan, 14 km from the city. Their products can be purchased at several locations in the city. The province has a long tradition of education and study and the province is often called Isan's Taksila, after the Indian Education Center Taksila.

In order to directly transport the 470 kilometer-long route from Bangkok, you need to travel by bus or car. The nearest airport and train station is located in the neighboring province of Khon Kaen, about 70 kilometers away.




Attractions

Bun Pha Kao Ling or the monkeys Buffet is one of the province's unique attractions. The second April each year . A visitor can witness the very rare specie "golden monkey" celebrate in various fruit dishes.

Wat Mahachai is a temple containing one of northeastern Thailand's greatest art and literature collections.
