About Nakhon Nayok

About 100 kilometers north of Bangkok you will find the nearly thousand-year-old city of Nakon Nayok. The landscape consists largely out of wooded hills and the province's national parks is out of waterfalls and botanical gardens. The river that floats through the landscape bears the province's name and offers fleet and kayak tours.

For visitors who want to take home a typical souvenir is the province's blue-white ceramics a nice alternative. Vasara, candlesticks and copper are among them most craft products in the province.

14 kilometers west of the city you find the Chulachomklao Royal Military College. In addition to the training section has several activities that are open to visitors. In addition to a public shooting range, which is related to the military, you can also rent bicycle, canoe lessons and golf.




Attractions

The province's canoe race whose race starts at Wang Takhrai canal bridge and ends in Nakhon Nayok river, near the town. The distance is five kilometers and all tourists are welcome to attend.

Nam Tok sarikas or waterfall sarikas belong to one of the province's absolute biggest attractions. The very high waterfall, which is located fifteen kilometers east of the city, drops in the rain period up enormous quantities of water.

Prehistoric town of Dong Lakhon are nine kilometers south of Nakhon Nayok. The old city was alive during Dvaravati era (600-1300) and many of the items found in the ruins are now displayed at the national museum in Prachinburi Province.
