About Nakhon Ratchasima
The city that normally is called Khorat, or Korat, is located about 260 kilometers north-east of Bangkok. Both the city's population and the province's surface area is one of the country's largest.
In addition to functioning as the Isaan areas southwest port is the province known for its monuments and many Khmer ruins. One of the major and most famous buildings are the sand-built sanctuary Prasad Hin Phimai. The rectangular building, which is 665 meters wide and over one kilometer long, has together with its neighboring regions is classified as national historical park.

Attractions
Phimai boat race is a festival held in late October to early November each year. This attraction, which has over one hundred years long history attracts thousands of visitors each year.
Khun Ying Mo monument was erected in memory of Rama the third victory over a lao invasion. During almost two weeks in late March and early April population celebrates a feast with the monument in "focus".
