About Nakhon Si Thammarat
Approximately 780 kilometer south of Bangkok you find the scenic coastal province of Nakhon Si Thammarat. During the Srivijaya era was Nakhon Si Thammarat one of the strongest Buddhism regions in the country. Religious works from this historically important period are visible today in several locations in the city.
The nature of the province's western part consists of mountains and highlands, while the east part gradually glossing out to finally meet the Thai Gulf. Although the province's long coastal strip is home to many beautiful beaches, have a larger amount of tourists never found their way here. Attractions
The old city wall is a little over two kilometers long wall that was erected during the Phraya Si Thamm Sokarat period and was renovated during the Ayutthaya era.
Phra Mahathat monument is a 77 meter high building is situated in the heart of the city. Contains almost two thousand years old Buddhist relics from Sri Lanka.
