About Phayao
Around 600 kilometers north of Bangkok you find the province of Phayao, whose landscape is dominated by mountains and valleys. The province is bordering to Laos and was once an independent kingdom, and completely self-driven. But in the mid-1400s, the kingdom of Lanna took over.
The province is one of the country's least modernized and they still don't have a train station or an airport. However, you can take the bus to or from here, or go to the neighboring provinces, where both train and plane are available.
West of the city you find the lake Kwan Phayao. For many of Phayao's people offer the large volume of freshwater fish in the lake both food and work.
