About Phetchabun
Between Thailand's central, northern and northeastern regions are the province of Phetchabun located. Pasak river flows through the province from north to south and on both sides of the fertile landscape rises several mountain lots.
The earth has been very good for farming in Phetchabun, which led to the area's old name, Phuechapura, which translated means "rich in crops." Today, Tamarind is the province's most cultured and well-known product. The sweet fruit has become something of Phetchabun characteristics, and in February there is a "Tamarind festival."
Several temples can be found in the area and for a historical interested visitor are the Si Theps historical park worth a visit. In the Si Thep park can you see remains of a prehistoric city with ancestors from the 1100s and later. Three kingdoms were once here, which made its mark in the shape of the ruins and temples from the different cultures.

Wat Mahathat is a Temple building in Phetchabun city with lots and structures that are considered some of the country's oldest.
Huai Pa Dang is a dam located eight kilometers from the center. The nature around this area is considered good and well-suited for picnic and relaxation.
