About Phichit
In the area where northern Thailand faces is central province of Phichit. The 345 kilometer-long route to Bangkok operated daily with both bus and train. The trip takes just over five hours.
Yom and Nan rivers flowing through both the province and, together with Phichit's lakes long served as home to freshwater crocodiles. These notorious reptiles have given the province's nickname, The Crocodile country. Directly translated, means, however, Phichit, the beautiful city.
The province was built already a thousand years ago and played an important role in both Sukhothai and Ayutthaya era.
