About Saraburi

Over 100 kilometers north of Bangkok you find the city of Saraburi. The city was built in the mid-1800s and back then worked as a recruitment base of the Ayutthaya Kingdom forces.

Today, the province offers several tourist attractions such as historical temples, beautiful natural areas and a large numbers of festivals. Buddhist ceremonies and boat races are two of the many themes celebrated with a festival. Pasak river flows through the province to finally meet up in the Chao Phraya river in Ayutthaya. Several resorts offer boat rides along the river.

The Chiang Saen's people, from the beginning the Chiang Saen's people derived from the country's northern regions, when they emigrated to Saraburi they broth the tradition to produce fabrics of the special material Sao Hai. The province's population have over the years managed to preserve there traditions and with the authorities' help managed to industrialize there crafts. Skirts, blankets and small bags belonging to some of the typical Sao Hai products.




Attractions

Khao Sam Lan National Park is the closet national park from Bangkok. Offers several small waterfalls and trekking.

Wat Phra Phutthabat is one of the country's most beautiful religious buildings. Contains the famous Buddha's footprint.
