About Sisaket

Almost 600 kilometers east of Bangkok you find the province of Si Saket. The city formerly known as Muang Khu Khan, got it´s city title 1759, when Ayutthaya was the capital. In 1938 the town changed its name to Si Saket. That the province borders with the neighboring country of Cambodia in the south can you see on the large numbers of Khmer-ruins witch is found throughout the province. Silk and cotton garments belong together with hand-made baskets to the province's traditional products and crafts. Although most of the craft work is done on the countryside you can buy all the products in one of the town's souvenir shops.
