About Suphan Buri
At the river Tha Chins western shore banking lies the historically important city of Suphan Buri. During the Ayutthaya era served the city as the kingdom western border and was under its former name, U Thong, involved in several battles. The distance to Bangkok is about 170 kilometers and the route is operated daily by buses and trains. Although Suphan Buri is located in Thailand's inland makes closeness to the Tha Chin River that fish has become one of the province's most common food. Canned mushrooms and the sweet biscuits Khanom Sali, are also dishes that are typical of Suphan Buri. The small village Retsadon Bamrung, north of the city, has become something of the province's handicraft center. Woven baskets, hats and bags belonging to the village's export products.

Attractions
Don Chedis memorial is a festival going on a week in late January. The purpose of the festival is to celebrate the country's independence from the occupying powers.
