About Trang
Trade and shipping, together with the growing of rubber trees has made Trang one of southern Thailand's most important provinces. The Chinese who came here in the late 1800s, have through there construction technic and its cuisine put a mark on the provincial capital. Trang is located about 850 kilometers south of Bangkok and a traveler can reach the province by bus, plane, car or train.
Long white beaches and almost idyllic islands belong to Trang's natural environment. Although tourism here has increased in recent years, you can probably categorize Trang as a relaxed place to holiday on.
Koh muk (or Koh Mook) and Koh Kradan are among the most visited islands in the area. Koh Mook can be described as an exclusive jungle-island in the middle of the sea. The island has several small beaches and the most spectacular hidden in a cave and its only accessible by boat. Koh Kradans water is often very clear. This, together with coral reefs makes diving very popular.
