In northern Thailand's southern part you find the city and province of Uttaradit. The Nan river who pass throw the province has long been used to carry goods through the hilly landscape. This has led to today's Uttaradit often played an active role in the country's early history. This is reflected not least in the large number of temples and monuments still standing from the region's former kingdoms.
As in several of Thailand's northern provinces, the manufacture of hand-made garments is a long tradition. The clothes often have bright colors and imaginative designs. Another of Uttaradit's typical products, is the sweet banana candy could Klui Kluan.
